Discovery Operators are responsible for providing Hydro-Vac services, hauling and disposing of materials in an efficient and safe manner. The ideal candidate will have Hydro-Vac experience, and will easily transition into the “Discovery Way”. Being open to new and efficient techniques, process and a basic knowledge of the construction industry is preferred. Valid CDL with experience driving a 18 speed standard transmission vehicle (Required).

Operator Requirements
- Securing- water, dump locations
- Customer Relations- follow up with customers to make sure you provide “Best in Class” service
- Assisting Fleet Manager/Area Specialist in setting up necessary accounts for repair, supplies, tires, etc.
- Become efficient with company software and paperwork; MSI, Tablet, JSA, DOT, Maintenance, inventory, Payroll
- Ensure truck maintenance policies and procedures are followed
- Engage in weekly Toolbox Training calls
- Work closely with Dispatch Team to ensure efficient routes
- Safety- Maintain a passing score on in-field audits and complete OQ needs for the various Operators as needed
Operator Position Tasks
- Drive and operate a truck outfitted with a hydro vacuum excavation implement.
- Provide hydro excavation services in support of daily operations
- Enter confined spaces when required based on job scope and/or need
- Document daily inspection for any Pre/Post trip issues to determine if required maintenance or repair is needed
- Adhere to safe driving practices and follow posted traffic laws
- Maintain functional equipment and inspect hoses, valves, gauges, etc daily before use
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Prerequisite Knowledge
- Knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to commercial vehicles
- Ability to interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally always
- Ability to think clearly no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances
- Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
- Desire to learn and commitment to working safely
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Distinguish safety colors with 20/20 eyesight using corrective lenses if necessary
- Withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
- Ability to stand for long periods (up to 14 hours at a time)
Conditions of Employment

- In-state driver’s license with clean driving record
